A Letter to My Future Self.

Hey future Emma!

I have no idea when I'm planning on re-reading this - right now I'm 18, so maybe in 10 years? Hopefully by now you've finally settled on a career path or have at least found something that you love. As an 18-year-old, you're current plans are something creative - writing based or journalistic based? - but maybe you've gone back to the idea of teaching. Are you still blogging? I also hope you've settle down with someone, someone that you're in love with. If they're the right person it's worth every argument, every rough patch, everything that annoys you about them - it's worth it. Maybe you'll have a child? Maybe two? If not, don't worry - being single isn't forever, you don't need someone else in your life to complete you... and if it is, maybe it's time to invest in a cat? What does your hair look like? Do you still have a pixie cut? Have you finally caved in and returned to long hair? How many piercings do you have now? You've had 6 but you currently only have your lobe piercings in. Hopefully you don't regret any of your tattoos and possibly you have more. I hope you haven't made any decisions you regret. I hope you've lived overseas for a little while. But most of all, I hope that you're happy with where you are. I hope you're proud of where you are in your life.

Love, 18 year old Emma :-)
