Body Confidence.

Monday, August 31, 2015

I'm uploading two posts for Miscellaneous Monday, I have seen so many posts recently about body confidence that I felt I needed to address the topic.

This is a completely untouched photo of me right now as I write this blog post; August 31st, 2015.
There is nothing wrong with being the size you are. There is nothing wrong with being the shape you are. There is nothing wrong with being who you are. Body confidence is quite similar to personality confidence; all you have to do is fake it and after a while the confidence will just come naturally. I can honestly say that no matter what size someone is, if they look completely comfortable, happy and confident within their own skin they look beautiful. Everyone has different body shapes and sizes and it is not the right of people to judge how you look and feel. I am on the bigger side of "average" (ugh, I hate that term... who decides what an average body is) but that doesn't stop me from wearing what I feel comfortable in! In saying that, I've learnt my own limits. I own this leopard print (extremely revealing) one piece from my year 12 swimming carnival (because I was in the leopards/yellow house colour) [paired with a yellow tutu] and since all the moving I've done I've rediscovered it. Now, just because I own it and feel confident enough wearing it in my back yard while reading a book, doesn't mean I've gained enough confidence yet (and probably never will) to wear it in public. Maybe if it was anything but leopard print I would wear it because at the moment I feel like a female version of Borat in his man-kini.

Mainly, I'm just trying to convey the classic cliche to you that you should feel comfortable, confident and happy and don't let anyone tell you what you should and should not wear.

I love each and every one of you!
