How do I choose where I go? 

As my regular readers would be aware, I make my money off blogging. I earn a salary that provides me sufficient money to live off without needing another job. The major benefit when it comes to blogging and travelling is that, as long as I have an Internet connection I can write and upload and for the most part, none of my readers would know where in the world I was :-) For example, writing this I am about 30,000 feet over the Equator from Hong Kong to Brisbane. I've had the most relaxing 3 weeks with very minimal blogging but this is me getting back into it... I have to some time, right?! In choosing where I go, I have a list that lives in my bedside table with countries that I've always wanted to visit (and is always growing) and I kind of just see how much time I can take off to determine how far away I go (depending on how long the flight takes) and how many days I can go for. As for why I travel so much... I have a few reasons. Firstly, I love learning about and immersing myself in new cultures. I find it incredibly amazing and fascinating that things go on in this world that we (unless we travel) will have no idea about. While I'm here writing this blog post there are horrible things happening around the world, fantastic things happening around the world, everyday regular activities for most people, someone else might even be writing a blog post... Secondly, I loathe being at home at the moment. As much of hermit and homebody as I am, at this particular time in my life and with the things I have going on in my life (and in my mind) I really, really, really loathe being at home.
