Navigating Through our 20s.
Thursday, December 08, 2016
I recently read an article about women in their late teens and 20s. It noted that this period of our lives are messy, we're trying to carve meaningful paths and navigate through the ever-changing social landscapes.
Here's a small list I've compiled of the things we, as women, need to note in order to successfully progress through this awkward period of life:
1. Stop talking shit about people you hang out with - if you feel the need to talk smack about someone, stop hanging out with them!
2. Stop drunk texting ex's - I don't need to explain that one...
3. Stop neglecting your health and fitness - start small, do 2 or 3 walks a week and work your way up to a jog or a few workouts :-) You're body will thank you later
4. Have more fun! Live carefree (so long as no one gets hurt)
5. Stop forcing yourself to wear makeup to go out - who cares if you go to the supermarket without makeup on? Who cares if you go to a cafe without makeup on? Who cares if you go to a restaurant without makeup on?
6. Stop drinking cheap alcohol - do yourself a favour and save yourself a hangover by spending that little bit more on good quality booze
7. Stop beating yourself up - we're young and naive, make mistakes and learn from them!!
8. Stop buying cheap clothes - they either rip or fade super quickly or you never wear them! If you can, spend that little bit extra on nicer quality staple items
9. Stop drunk eating
10. Start allowing yourself to say no when you don't want to do something
11. Stop taking yourself too seriously - laugh, have fun and enjoy!!
12. Stop complicating your love life
13. Stop texting and driving, or while you're at dinner
14. Stop settling for less than your best
15. Stop buying shoes that are too high - trust me, you'll look better if your shoes are a bit lower but you can actually walk in them!!
XO
