Travel Essentials.

It's established... I travel too often!

It's not necessarily a bad thing though, right?!? It gets more and more simple the more often I fly. It helps me to realise that I used to always overpack; I now only pack the essentials and the most important things. So, I thought... Because I am stuck for any sort of creative content (it's all being sucked out of me because I have to write a short fiction piece for uni) that I would put together some of my travel essentials.

My iPhone and headphones; obvious essentials. Usually I fly Virgin Australia if I'm flying domestically or to close international countries, which means in order to use their inflight entertainment I have to take my phone to watch it. (They don't have screens on the plane, you connect to their WiFi which only allows you to access their Virgin Australia App and watch movies/tv shows/listen to music.)

Wallet; again, another obvious. I usually just check in on my phone and rarely have any baggage to check in so it means I don't necessarily need to bring ID or anything but it's good just to have in case and also it means that when you land you have all of your stuff with you.

Passport (optional); not necessary when you're flying domestically but this is something I always forget I need when travelling internationally and is always something I'm searching for hours before my flight!

Snacks; I ALWAYS take gum or some sort of chewing lolly on the plane to pop my ears while taking off and landing. But I also like to carry with me basic snacks so I'm not relying on plane food; things like crackers, fruit, etc.

Comfortable clothing and shoes; no matter if I'm on an hour flight or an 8 hour flight I love to have the most comfortable clothing on! To me, that's either comfortable jeans, Nike's, shirt and hoodie or a comfortable dress and sandals.

Good sized carry-on bag; I normally have 2 carry-on bags. One has all of my clothing and such for the time I'm away (which goes in the overhead compartment as soon as I get on the plane) and the other is a small handbag that has my laptop/iPad, phone, wallet, (passport), headphones, snacks... anything I'm going to be wanting on the flight or as soon as I get off the aeroplane.

Lip balm and hand cream; this is probably one of the first things that I pack; a good lip balm and hand cream to avoid getting dry skin on the flight.
