Let's Get Real #5: Room Update.

Saturday, March 05, 2016

Let's be really real. This week has been utterly shit - emotion wise - and due to that, this blog post had completely slipped my mind until right now (it's currently 11pm on Friday night, 8 hours before this post is supposed to be uploaded!). I'm somewhat giving myself the night off to relax and instead of wracking my brain for some bullshit anecdotal post I've decided to just share some photos of my somewhat newly decorated room. I've recently redecorated/reorganised my bedroom, so I thought I'd document it on here. I have quite a small bedroom, in fact, I live in a two bedroom place and decided to take the smaller room (and use the other as my office/main study but weirdly I chose the smaller of the two to make my bedroom because I prefer the layout.) I tend to change the furniture layout of my bedroom every few weeks, but I kind of like how I've got it set up now, so I think I'll leave it like this for a while. I don't have a 'theme' or 'colour scheme' but I have realised the majority of my room is white, grey and black with a few bright coloured pieces. I'm not interior designer nor do I necessarily have an interest in interior design but, I just thought I'd share this with you lovely guys and gals.
Enjoy :-)

Bedding and bed frame is from Adairs, cushions are from Freedom, fairy lights are from Ikea.
My Bedside Tables:
(left) Lamp is from Freedom, coaster is from Hobart Markets, fairy lights are from Kmart, white candle was made by Anemice (and her mum), pink candle is from Yankee Candles, vase is from Hobart Markets.
(right) XO candle from Kmart, other candle from Dusk, fairy lights from Kmart, lamp from Freedom and coaster from Hobart Markets.
I have a three door, sliding wardrobe that I've defaced with pages and posters from Frankie magazine and on the middle door a yearly calendar so I can at least pretend that my life is together.
I have three of these 'floating shelves' above one another. The top shelf is (left to right) make up brushes, a bottle of dry shampoo, a ton of Bath and Body Works body sprays, a collection of perfumes and my Apple TV. The middle shelf (left to right) is my most used makeup, jewellery, sunglasses and then stuck on the end is where I have my weekly planner on a piece of paper. The third shelf is just odds and ends... I have a journal from Kikki K called 365 and everyday you stick a photo or some kind of memory from that day - somehow I've kept completely up to date!
My mini work space. Here I have my fairy lights, in the left hand corner a photo of Meg, Sasha and I at my Year 12 Formal, tons of coloured pens and markers, weekly uni timetable and my Mac computer, my Macbook laptop normally sits to the left and has some music or something playing from it when I'm studying, or I'll use it to have some other information on it.
Probably my favourite part of my bedroom. My polaroid/photo board.
Note: I bought myself flowers yesterday for only the second time in my entire life - it's pretty sad...
