I don't have a quick fix or an answer that will change your life, but I do have some tips from how I have become happier over the past few months. And while what I'm about to say won't resonate with everyone, I know that there may just be that one person out there who was like me and needed some kind of advice that it does get better. Be aware that this is going to sound like some pathetic attempt at a motivational speech, but I really didn't mean for that to happen...

Flashback even 6 months ago and I was nowhere near as happy as I am now. I surrounded myself with the people that I thought I had to be around. I did the things I thought society wanted me to do. I made myself look a particular way to suit both of these groups of people too. At the end of January, I went away for the weekend with a group of leaders from church. At the time, I didn't realise how much that weekend would shape and influence the change I've seen happen in my life since then. Over that weekend I made friends with some of the greatest people I have ever met and since then have met many more through them. I have realised that I don't need to be someone that I am not, I don't need to dress a certain way or do things that I thought society wanted me to do.

Again, this may sound weird because I don't really know how to word it... but bear with me. Within the last few months, I've decided that I would do whatever I wanted to do to make myself happy (of course, without hurting anyone else in the process). So, in the past when I would eat a salad and no dessert I realised I wasn't happy doing that and it just didn't suit me :) So now, I'm all about a side of fries and some ice cream!! Yes, it's meant that I've gained almost 10kg (22lbs!!!) in a short span of time. But who cares?! If you're happy within yourself and with who you are that should be the only important thing.

I'm at a point where I have never been happier with the people I am surrounded with, with who I am and with where I see my future going. Get yourself to that place!! Because in a few years, will it really matter what someone else thought of you?!

I figured I would continue with this 'guide to a city' thing... Seeing as Seattle is definitely in my top 5, I thought I would start a mini series of a few of my favourite cities around the world.
So here's Seattle:

I'm in a total lull at the moment. I'm lacking creative inspiration to come up with new content for you gals, and it's causing me to lack motivation to write new blog content for you each week. I know that this may not seem like a real problem to many of you, but this is not only my job but was started as a creative outlet for me. We're just over a week off celebrating three years of constant blogging, and don't get me wrong I don't want to stop blogging (for now anyway) but I definitely need to reinvent...

By the end of this month, two really exciting things will have happened. Conquer With Coffee will celebrate three years as a running blog (yippee) and I will have finished yet another semester of university (leaving three semesters to go until graduation... oh shit!) I figure if I can get through the next few weeks of content, once I'm on uni holidays (and travelling again) the content will be a lot better!! I promise :) 

I know this post is absolute rubbish. I just want to be honest with you all and not post something that I wasn't happy to be sharing or that I wasn't proud of. Within the next two weeks, I will stick to my schedule by doing more fashion or beauty posts and then the content will come back to normal in early June. 

Thank you all for being so lovely and kind when sending emails; you're all amazing and I wouldn't be able to do what I do with you.

I received a couple of emails over the past week regarding Singapore and what to do while you're there. I figured instead of answering a bunch of emails individually, I would do a post on My Guide to Singapore. [You can click on hotels, sights and malls to go to their website.]

Travel 
Once you're in Singapore, the easiest way to get around is by the MRT (Singapore's subway/underground rail). While rides on the MRT are super cheap, there is an even better option for tourists. It's called the Singapore Tourist Card and for $20 (for three days) you can ride the underground and above ground trains, as well as all buses. Also, I never waited more than 3 minutes for a train, which is a bonus!

Accommodation
When I've gone to Singapore, I've stayed at Swissotel on Stamford or Parkroyal on Pickering. But, there are heaps of other places throughout the city that beautiful and quite affordable. I would recommend staying near Chinatown, City Hall or Orchard stations.

Sightseeing 
This could take forever, there are so many places that I have to recommend throughout the city!! If you're only in Singapore for a short stop-over, I would highly recommend going down to the bay area (use Bayfront MRT station) and check out Gardens by the Bay, the Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Sands (it's a hotel as well as a shopping mall). Other great things to see are the Singapore Zoo (I would recommend doing the Night Safari), you definitely need to go and walk around Little India and Chinatown! Another great place to visit is the Raffles Hotel, it's famous for their Singapore Sling (a delicious drink) and beautiful architecture.

Shopping 
There are so many malls that I would recommend!! Marina Bay Sands, Raffles City, Vivocity and Orchard Road are some great ones (just to name a few).

Food

When over in Singapore, eat like the locals. There are crazy food courts all around the city for you to try local delicacies like chilli crab and loads of different style of rice. While it's not specifically specialised in Singapore, I lived off iced 'bubble' teas and I would definitely recommend giving one a try while in the city.
