My Guide to Seattle.
Saturday, May 20, 2017
I figured I would continue with this 'guide to a city' thing... Seeing as Seattle is definitely in my top 5, I thought I would start a mini series of a few of my favourite cities around the world.
So here's Seattle:
So here's Seattle:
Accommodation
While I've never actually stayed in a hotel in Seattle (because I have my wonderful American fam nearby), I asked a few of my friends who have stayed in the city where they like to stay. While I can't give any personal feedback, I can link you to the four hotels I was recommended:
The W Seattle
Sheraton Downtown Seattle
Grand Hyatt Seattle
and Hyatt at Olive 8
Sightseeing
The Space Needle is one of, if not, my favourite thing in Seattle. I love the observation decks in every city and being able to look at the whole city from above.
Another favourite is Pike Place Market. It's right along the waterfront and you could walk around for hours and hours. There are many other cool things around Pike Place, like the first ever Starbucks, some great little cafes and restaurants and the Gum Wall.

Speaking of the Gum Wall, you definitely need to check it out!!

Other than those, just walking the streets of Seattle are gorgeous. This was a super groovy wall I walked past in the middle of the city.

Shopping
Make sure you check out 5th Avenue and surrounding streets for a great mixture of department and local stores. The American Apparel store in the centre of the city is AMAZING!! And I've definitely spent a lot of money there in the past...

Food
As an Australian, I love all of the food in America. In the middle of Seattle, there's a fast food place Dick's that is just amazing and SUPER cheap. Other than that, if you're not America I would recommend Spaghetti Factory,

And, of course, this girl is another reason why I love Seattle.
