Week 26: What you want to be when you grow up {yes, there’s still time}.

Like many, the term what do you want to be when you grow up(?) is asked quite frequently to them throughout their teenage years. When first asked, it can seem quite a confronting and abrupt question and we are often forced to scramble and come up with some kind of a socially acceptable answer. A doctor; a teacher; a nurse; a journalist. etc.

I know it's quite a cliche answer, but I always said that I wanted to be happy. I think this stems from me being quite an optimistic child. I always looked toward the future and the exciting things that could happen. The world is our oyster, right?! When it comes to being happy, I believe that there are many different aspects. Life, job, wealth, relationships, family, etc.

Yes, when I grow up I want to be a teacher. But not just any teacher. I want to be truly happy in my career and ready to tackle the future leaders, educators, and beings of our future. I want to thrive in my career through happiness, dedication, and determination and to strive to be the best that I can be.

I want to be happy in my relationships - whether that be friendships, partners, etc. I want to know that I am putting my whole heart into each relationship and never making anyone feel less than they deserve.

So, when I grow up I want to be the best version of myself and the happiest version of myself.

XO
