Survive Being Single.
Saturday, April 22, 2017
The 21st century is hard enough to try and tackle, just add being single as well. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing bad about being single but it can sometimes feel like you're the only one when surrounded by your friends in their relationships. I enjoy having time on my own and being able to grow as a person individually.
I don't know if it's just circle of friends or not, but do you feel like every person you've ever met is currently getting engaged? No joke, since the beginning of this year (only a short, four months ago) I know at least 10 couples who have put a ring on it. Since when did we start getting so old?!
I have to be honest, I am the happiest I have ever been in my life right now. I am surrounded by the best group of friends, I am in a great place in knowing what I want and how to get it and I am excited for my future.
I've been in and out of relationships for like seven or eight years, which is a crazy thought considering I'm only 19. I've had the past few months to just spend growing and focusing on who I want to be. I have a few little things that make me really appreciate my own time and I thought I'd share them briefly:
1. Going for a walk along the beach and leaving my phone and shoes in the car without worrying about being anywhere or messaging anyone.
2. Taking a bath at the end of a very long day, again with a glass of wine and no phone.
3. I occasionally love taking myself out for dinner. I say occasionally because it's something I only like to once a month, or so. But I find something so liberating by going out to a restaurant and sitting alone... A lot of thinking gets done!!
much love,
XO
