I've just begun my journey of Bible Journaling. I was never one to write in my Bible because I didn't want to 'ruin' it. However, I've come to realise that underlining, circling, highlighting, even colouring throughout the Bible is very helpful to my soul. I used to think that writing in my Bible was defacing it, but Jerimiah 15:16 says "When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delights, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty" - I think writing in our Bible's is a great way to honour God.
Here are a few reasons, that I've discovered, about why writing in my Bible has become important:
1. It helps me to see what is there.
To read the Bible is one thing, to see is another. Underlining and decorating is a great way to place importance around particular repetition, keywords or phrases and to show you how God's word holds importance in your own life.
2. It helps to process what you're reading.
For me, writing through my Bible shows me how each book works together and stands alone from the others.
3. It helps me to remember.
I have a very creative brain and in order for it to store information, I must see bright and colourful designs around the pages.
4. It makes reflecting a lot easier.
There are many times where I have been flicking through a particular book in the Bible and couldn't find the exact verse I was looking for. However, when it's highlighted and decorated it's easy to spot in the margin.
5. It's created a more personal relationship between God and myself.
I know that we can worship God without writing in our Bibles, but for me when I have a pen in my hand and am scribbling down important verses along the margins of my bible, I feel a deeper connection with God.

I've spent a while trying to figure out how to introduce this post... I've never properly introduced someone (who is in my real life) on my blog before, but this guy is pretty special. While this is less of an introduction and more a thank you to him, I thought it would still give an idea of the person that he is. I've shared the majority of my life online over the past 3 and a bit years, but this seems a lot more personal. My boyfriend, Rhett, has quickly become one of the most important parts of my life. These are the things that I struggle to verbalise, because I don't deal with emotions very well...
Rhett, I'm sorry for not telling you these things more often. This is a thank you, because you'll never know how much I appreciate you and how happy I am to have you by my side through all that life throws at us. It feels like you've been in my life for years, when in reality it's only been a small handful of months. Thank you for supporting and encouraging me to do the things I enjoy. Thank you for being there when I needed someone to text or call. Thank you for being a shoulder to lean on. Thank you for leading us in our relationship with Christ. Thank you for trying to understand me, even if I didn't know myself. Thank you for making me feel confident. Thank you for reminding me everyday that I'm the most beautiful girl in the world. Thank you for holding my hand and guiding me. Thank you for dealing with the numerous screenshot of Pinterest things I send to you. Thank you for putting up with my stupid jokes. Thank you for making my problems, our problems. Thank you for accepting my flaws. Thank you for dealing with my inner diva. Thank you for staying up late just to talk to me. Thank you for being by my side. But most of all, thank you for making me the luckiest girl in the world. I'm more thankful for you than you could ever know.
September has been the same as most preceding months. I haven't changed too much.
Beauty
I have quite similar beauty favourites as the past few months, in that I try to not wear makeup and just fill in my brows and wear mascara. While doing this, I soak my skin in moisturiser. The weather here in Australia has been crazy hot recently (it's supposed to be spring!!!), so loads of moisturiser has been wonderful.
Fashion
As always, I've been living in black jeans and stripe tees... This will probably never change :)
I have, however, found myself at the beach a lot throughout September, so I thought I'd treat myself to some new bikinis - these are the ones I've been loving the most.
Music
This month, I've been listening to a lot of Meg Mac, Clueless Kit, Thelma Plum and Emma Louise. I have my Spotify linked on the side of the blog, you can go check out my 'current' favourites.
