Hey Pals (wow, I'm a really awkward person...) Friends? Everyone?
To begin my blog I thought I would briefly recount my Year 12 Formal that occurred on May 9th, 2014. So, this year (2014) is my senior year of high school; I graduate on November 21st and am eagerly anticipating the end of the year!!
Anyways, so our senior formal was honestly one of the best nights of my life. We had the day off from school to get ready and prepared for the big night ahead of us; I started with a nice long sleep because I knew it would be a long, long, long night ahead. I had my makeup appointment at 12.30pm, my hair appointment at 2pm, which was followed by a quick stop home to get changed and off to the dock for photos with friends. The actual formalities begun at around 6pm when everyone started arriving at the venue.
Afterwards, we all proceeded inside to take family photographs and begin the evening. It started with entree, alongside partner dancing and being presented to our parents on stage.
To be honest, I spent about 20 minutes total (out of 4 hours) at the table with my parents and the rest of the time was either hitting the D-Floor or getting photos with my friends and in classes! (But at least now, I have beautiful, lasting memories)
The infamous awkward individual photograph, where the photographer insisted that although the pose felt "awkward and uncomfortable" ensured me it would look "beautiful and elegant" when I saw the photo, they were wrong!
The night at the formal ended at around 10pm-11pm to which we all went home, changed into more 'appropriate' attire and went out again to a party. Let's just say, that night was one of the best nights, a night where I not only further connected with my already best friends, but with my entire grade as a cohort. A night where everyone bonded and we all became one HUGE family!
