I hope you've all had a splendid week! I'm thinking I might change up my schedule posts... Not the day's that I upload but the content on each day. Monday will still be the Weekly Bit, but I'm thinking of changing Thursday and Saturday's posts - I'll keep you updated, of course!
Anemice and I decided recently (after much self Instagram stalking) that our technical friend-iversary would be April 8th. We were friends before then and we'd been friendly toward each other, but it was when we were in Malaysia together on a school Netball tour in 2014 that we truly became friends - because we didn't really talk to any of the other girls and we'd previously spoken because of debating... So, April 8th 2014 when we were stuck in Malaysia together with no hotel washing machines and were forced to wash our clothes in the bath tub and try them by rolling them on the floor in towels, we quickly bonded. I don't think we understood back then just how close we would be in the 2 short years to come.
She's put up with my many, AND I MEAN MANY, different hair styles and colours;
Here are many photos of the two of us together! (I've tried to put the photos in chronological order!) And there will definitely be more of these amazing memories to come! Thanks for always being my super cool friend who is there through thick, thin and everything in between!!!! Anemice, you're the greatest!
I suck at sleeping. Once I'm actually asleep, I'm fine - but it's getting to that part that I usually struggle with. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I'm a quite anxious person; you've realised that by now, right? I've had anxiety problems since I was about 13 or 14, and I've had sleeping problems since I was about 13 or 14 - so, I just put two and two together... I constantly lie awake worrying. It's extremely difficult, more so recently, for me to turn off my emotions and thoughts as I try to go to sleep. I read something, somewhere, that there's a connection between being anxious and being intelligent... I have never, and probably will never, consider myself anywhere in the spectrum of 'intelligent', so I'm not sure if that theory is entirely true. But basically it said that the smarter you are, the more aware you are of the scary things in the world and the more anxious you become. I don't know. It does make sense, but I'm the exception. Another thing I've put my insomnia down to is the crazy amount of sugar I eat before bed. Not so much anymore, because I'm half on the healthy bandwagon and so I've been cutting sugar out of my diet whenever I can, but I used to eat a shit ton of red frog lollies while I wrote just before bed and then couldn't sleep for hours after...
This was such a short post, but I underestimated myself. I underestimated how I was feeling and how I was doing. Maybe one day I'll do a vague post explaining, but for right now I think time (and 'hermit' mode) is all that will help.
I love you all and thank you to those of you who have sent such beautiful, caring emails! It means the world to me and I will never be able to express just how grateful I am for you all!

Firstly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY MUMMA!! [Today, April 4th, is my mum's birthday!]
I hope you all had a sensational week, I had a pretty quiet beginning to the week and spent the end of the week in Hobart!!!!
I'm currently in Hobart, Tasmania and therefore this is another scheduled in advance post!! I didn't feel up to writing anything too substantial or thought provoking, so here are a few of my weird habits or strange facts/things that I do/bother me that I thought I'd share with you!!
1. I have hypothetical conversations with myself (in my head) and usually those situations never happen.
2. I feel as though people judge me for innocuous things, i.e. eating alone, running, ordering a complicated coffee, the list goes on.
3. I hate gaining eye contact with people.
4. I overanalyse every single aspect of my life.
5. My constantly overpowering train of thought is just always running.
6. Wearing a full face of makeup when I have a bath.
7. Curling myself into a burrito with my blankets.
8. I always turn the music down in the car when trying to find something, as if it will help me find it faster.
9. Saying particular words phonetically in my mind, i.e. Wed-nes-day, sc-i-ss-or-s.
10. I always listen to a song over and over until I get really sick of it; at the moment my favourite song is Better Together by Jack Johnson.
Sorry about the kind of pathetic post, uni and travelling has kind of taken a little higher priority these past few weeks. Enjoy your weekend!!!
Here's some kind of bonus post - I guess :-)
I feel like I did a lot of travelling throughout the month of March. I had a couple of nights away in Brisbane, a long weekend in Canberra and (almost) a week in Hobart.
Beauty
Thanks to the wonders of YouTube and social media I started using the Nivea men's Post Shave Balm as a primer before doing my makeup and OH MY WOW if you haven't yet tried it, you're missing out!!!! If you're in Australia, it's about $10 from Priceline and after using it every day since the end of February I still have so much left in the bottle. It's such a lightweight primer and I've noticed that my makeup actually stays on all day now!
Book
Because I was travelling quite a bit, I feel as though I didn't really get to sit down and have my usual hour upon hour long binges of reading, meaning I didn't get to read a whole bunch of books this month. I did read a few, however my favourite would have to be a book called Furiously Happy, written by Jenny Lawson. It's an autobiography that finds the good in all things scary like panic attacks, anxiety and even depression. If you suffer with any of those, or even if you don't, I would highly recommend it as an enjoyable read!
Fashion
Another month of laid back style... I have a few new fashion loves for March. I've bought a ton of graphic tees recently and have loved pairing them with jeans, skirts and overalls! I bought a new pair of heeled boots in Canberra that I've worn about 7 or 8 times already and they are ridiculously comfortable!! Along with rediscovering my love for my Doc Martens!
Netflix
I watched a new season on Netflix called LOVE (written by Judd Apatow), starring Gillian Jacobs and Paul Rust in a day. It's a short season (10, 30 minute epsiodes) that are basically an independant film version of the series GIRLS created by and starring Lena Dunham. I think I liked it because it was so each to watch
Other
My main obsession for the month has been scrolling the pages and doing a lot of searches on Pinterest! Since I've been sitting at airports quite a bit, alongside being in hotel rooms or in taxis/Ubers I've spent a lot of time scrolling through and repinning things on Pinterest. Stalk my Pinterest here.
Before I start, keep in mind that I am one of the most 'hermit' people you will ever come across. I stay in the confines of my own home probably too often because I just like spending time alone and not outside being constantly socially awkward. However, I've lived alone for a year or so now and I think I have come up with a few tips on how to successfully live alone! Don't get me wrong, I sometimes still feel a little lonely but I've realised that it's okay to feel lonely sometimes because otherwise I take spending time with friends for granted. This way, when I spend time with my friends I truly enjoy their company! In the beginning of living alone my house went from clean to a little chaotic, my level of productivity crashed, my thoughts and emotions also crashed and I had watched everything interesting on Netflix. After a few weeks to a month of living like a sloth, I told myself that I need to take more care of not only my home but myself.
1. Look After Your Home: I found that it was super easy to lose interest in tidying my home. Yeah, I'd do the boring things like vacuum and mop but I never bought new furniture pieces or decorative pieces to liven up the place; you know what I mean? Okay, sometimes there was a sky high pile of dishes and clutter in the kitchen when I got overwhelmed with things. I find that once I get my university timetable and figure out my work schedule (writing, uploading, editing, other things) I set a particular day and time each week to do a big clean of my entire house. It keeps my sanity in check (sort of).
2. Find The Good in Everything: this probably seems like it doesn't relate to living alone, but it does - at least for me it does. Living alone brings loneliness and I forget to think about the good/beauty in everyday life. I forget that I can look outside and see birds chirping and sitting in the trees when I'm feeling a little stressedd. Or, that I can go for a walk outside and spend some time with nature - watching the birds fly, dogs barking... It's important to not let yourself feel too lonely, you'll know the difference between good and bad loneliness!
3. Listen to Your Thoughts: don't let yourself think negative thoughts. If you ever feel a stressful thought approaching do something to combat it! - Maybe that's lighting a candle or some incense, taking a hot bubble bath, doing some yoga, listening to music or just closing your eyes for a moment - anything that will get you through those moments... I tend to find myself doing a combination of lighting a candle, taking a bath and watching something on Netflix to take my mind off everything.
4. Take yourself on a Date: who says you can't go to the movies alone? Well, personally I haven't done it but I don't see a problem with it at all - go for it!!! I have gone out to a meal alone though, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner, I just take along a book, some work to do or even just let myself sit there and ponder everything. I think it's extremely important to be comfortable being alone.
5. Do Everything Naked: embrace the fact that for this very brief time in your life, you are living alone. Do anything, that you can, naked. Walk around the house, read a book, eat some food - embrace your body and embrace being alone. Because heck, you're not going to have the entire house to yourself for long!

Safe to say, uni got the better of me this week and this post totally skipped my mind until now - 8pm on Sunday night - just under 10 hours until this is being uploaded! This week wasn't overly exciting because it was the week before uni mid semester break so it was just a rush of assignments to get complete and a lot of time spent in bed reflecting and thinking about life, in general. Next week I promise will be better because it's not only mid semester break (so I have the week off uni) but mum and I are going to Hobart for a few days to celebrate her birthday!!
I hope you all had an awesome week and thank you so much for sticking by me (and my blog) these past few weeks/months while I'm getting everything together :-) you're the bomb.com

I bring this up
quite a bit but let’s talk about the hilarity of adulthood. I classify myself
as being in that awkward stage between being a child and being an adult. Some
call it, teenager. You see, being eighteen is a little of both. In the title,
you’re a teenager – eighTEEN. However, in responsibility you’re an adult. I’m
out of high school, I live by myself, I can legally purchase and consume
alcohol, I can vote, and the list goes on. So why do I feel like such a child
still? Personally, I can’t wait to be a fully-fledged adult – career, married,
kids – the whole package, but I have quite a way until I’m there. I’m in my
second year of university but have never felt more childish. I need the
guidance of people older than me, the support of people my age and I want the
energy of people younger than me. Here are some of the signs you’re in the same
stupid stage of life as me.
You’ve attempted
to grow vegetables/fruits/herbs: if you’re like me – and I know quite a few of
you are – you’ve probably thought at some stage that the idea of growing your
own vegetables, fruits and/or herbs sounded like such a good idea! It means
less time spent at the grocery store, less money spent on those things and you
get to grow it all from scratch so no crazy sprays or diseases… Right? Well, no
one ever told me I had to constantly water and care for these plants…
You’ve attempted
to make your bed: again, like me. I go through phases when I actually make my
bed every morning, but let’s be honest… I’m way too busy with work and
university to fully make my bed so I pull up my blankets and pretend it’s done
properly – if only I had birds like in Disney movies to help me with this!
You own Tupperware:
hell, maybe you’ve even thrown a Tupperware party! I own far too much
Tupperware! I went through this stage last year where I thought it would be a
really good idea to put all of my grains, sugars, flours, etc., into containers
and display them in my pantry, I thought it would be very Pinterest – that’s a
verb right? – and make my life a lot easier when it came to
preparing/making/cooking food. For the first time in my life, I was right! Don’t
knock it til you try it!!
You buy fresh
flowers weekly: yup, this is something I do. (Cue sad music) Until recently,
the flowers were a gift from … (yep, let’s move past it) but after he left my
life I just liked the idea of continuing to by flowers. It’s like a way of
treating myself every week and I feel like it lives up my somewhat dead and
empty house.
You try and pay
your bills on time: oh this hardly ever happens. I either pay bills the day I
get them, or when I receive the late notice a month or so later. Top tip:
schedule an event in your phone a week or two before the bill is due so that
you make sure it’s paid on time!
As I've mentioned in my last 2 posts, Anemice and I flew to Canberra for a long weekend to visit Holly and Cara. Here is a few photos from everyday of what we did. I'd never really been to Canberra before (only stoping for one night when I drove to Hobart) so it was really nice to get to see the city, along with spending time with the girls! We visited some super cool buildings, did some shopping and went to a lot of nice restaurants!
Be prepared for quite a lot of photos, so maybe grab yourself a cup of tea before perusing :-)
